Voice of God Recordings Caught Withholding Information: Houston Photograph

Researchers have informed us that Voice of God Recordings, the headquarters for William Branham's cult of personality, has attempted to publish partial "research" to counter the claims of this and other websites that are exposing Branham's false claims.  "Partial", because it is apparent that VOGR is (purposefully?) concealing critical details to support Branham's false claims.

On January 24, 2021, Branham.org published an article "From the Archives - 1950: The Pillar of Fire",[1] and to the casual reader it appears that cult headquarters has made a solid attempt to verify Branham's claims.  The article contains photographs and excerpts from the newspaper describing the debate between William Branham, F. F. Bosworth, and Rev. W. E. Best.  The full article can be read here:

There are many incorrect details contained within their article, such as the claim that George J. Lacy — who was never employed by the F. B. I., was a Federal agent.  From F. B. I Document EX-105 REC-73:

FBI Document EX-105 REC-73 Response to Mr. Warnock.  "With respect to your inquiries, the FBI has no Information it can furnish you relative to the Photograph you enclosed.  I can tell you, however, that George Lacey[sig] has never been employed by this Bureau.  I am returning your enclosure herewith."

While the cult's false claims surrounding this photograph are nothing new, and the article is, for the most part, repeating the same false claims that originated with William Branham decades ago, there is one key difference between this and false claims of the past:  The newspaper articles referenced.  If the cult "historians" retrieved these newspaper articles, they would have most certainly seen the other photographs of the debate.  The other photographs contained within the article invalidate Branham's false claim.  According to Branham, God "would not permit" other photographs to be captured at the event so that He (God) could "have His picture taken".  ("His" collectively referring to the angel, since some versions of Branham's extra-biblical theology claimed that Jesus was Michael the archangel, the "angel" was "Jesus", the photo was the "pillar of fire" and more.)

When they went to develop the picture, they taken out the six glossies that they was supposed to have for Mr. Best shaking his fists under that godly, saintly, old man, and every one of them was blank. God wouldn't permit that camera to take the picture with his fist under that saintly man's nose, like that, acting like that. And when they pulled the seventh one out, there was the Angel of the Lord on the picture. Mr. Ayers keeled over in a heart attack. They sent for me.[2]

Yet within the same collection of newspaper articles covering the Bosworth-Branham/Best debate, God not only "permitted" the cameras to capture the photograph, but also allowed newspapers to fully cover the darker details of the debate — which was an ungodly and ridiculous display of un-Christian-like conduct.  Those who sided with Best in thinking the "divine healing fanatics" would seek to injure them had more accurate predictions than any of Branham's alleged "prophecies".  A fistfight did break out during the debate.
