I finally gave in. Money is the root of all evil.
Or it feels like giving in.
I should say that I finally "heeded the advice" of Dr. Steven Hassan, many friends in here, and partners, researchers, and supporters of the website. For almost a decade now, I've been offered contributions, some of them quite large, to fund the advertising expense, hosting costs, research time, website, blog, and support networks. To date, I've refused. With the exception of a couple people who contributed in ways that could not be returned, William Branham Historical Research and its former version, Seek the Truth, have operated at a negative operating cost. All costs, which have been sometimes thousands of dollars per year, have been funded by my consulting businesses and book sales, which in effect is to say funded by my family.
This week's events have made me take a step back, and realize that the advice I've rejected for several years now was right: We are limited in what we do without funding. There is so much more we want to do to help, spread awareness, and support, which is much larger myself.
If you or someone you know has been negatively impacted by the "Message" cult following of William Branham, the splinter groups that branched from that cult, or the many forms of religious abuse that resulted from Branham's destructive theology, and you wish to help others escape by contributing, please do!
