Message Cult Linked to the Diamond Mines

December 14, 2021

The seventeen widows of the late William Branham "Message" cult leader Robert Gumbura have made national news after causing a scene in the Master of the High Court's offices.  Gumbura, who died of Covid during his fifth year into a 40-year prison term for raping several female members of his congregation,[1] apparently left behind a vast financial empire[2] including his home, multiple cottages surrounding his home, the church, eleven additional houses, a farm, and a fleet of twenty vehicles, and a mine.[3]  Besides the seventeen widows, Gumbura left behind 52 children.[4]

Gumbura's ownership of the mine is of interest, especially considering the recent arrest of other "Message" cult leaders involved with money laundering.[5]  William Branham mentioned his interest in the mines, even during his revival meetings,[6] and was amazed at how much money was involved.[7]

And I noticed the diamonds, valued at tens of thousands of dollars, piled together, but they didn’t sparkle even under the light.[8]
