Russian Invasion or a Female President?
On January 20, 2021, Kamala Harris assumed office as the 49th Vice President of the United States. Cult leaders in William Branham's religious cult following, familiar with later versions of Branham's doomsday prophecies, began claiming that her election was the result of prophecy fulfilled and that the world as we know it would soon be ending. As sermons transitioned from studies of the prophet and his teachings to various scenarios of how the world would soon be destroyed, cult followers began to make mental preparations by mentally grieving the loss of all of their non-cult friends and acquaintances that would soon suffer the wrath to come. Photographs of Harris began to circulate among the Branham cult that captured Harris wearing a purple coat. Because Branham quoted Revelation 17:4 in his sermons, and the Bible text described a woman robed in purple,[1] cult leaders began claiming that Branham himself prophesied that doomsday would involve a woman wearing a purple coat instead of a purple robe.

As the world watches the current Russian invasion of Ukraine, Branham cult leaders began claiming that the world was entering "Phase II" of Branham's doomsday scenario. Earlier versions of William Branham's stage persona had claimed to have prophesied that Communist Russia would destroy the Vatican and that Communism would spread throughout the world resulting in the complete destruction of the United States.[2] Once again, cult members are beginning to grieve the loss of what they believe will soon be their former life, believing that they will soon suffer the same fate as the Ukranian Refugees.
What most cult members fail to realize is that the two alleged prophecies, both introduced into William Branham's stage persona after the 1950s, are mutually exclusive. The original version of William Branham's alleged series of "1933 Prophecies" changed significantly after the battle for Civil Rights intensified in the United States and Branham began to align with its opposition.
In the 1950s versions of Branham's stage persona, Branham claimed to have had a vision of Communism consuming all world government systems, starting with the destruction of the Vatican and overturning the Roman Catholic Church. In those versions of the alleged prophecy, Branham claimed that when Communist Russia invaded the United States to convert the United States to Communism, a female would be president.[3]
A—a woman…I—I better leave it alone. But just remember this. I predict this: that a woman will be president before we’re annihilated. That’s right. I said that in 1933 by a vision.

As people became aware that many of the details in the original version Branham's doomsday predictions were starting to fail, such as his prediction that Germany would become Communist after the fall of Nazism,[4] Branham and his campaign team began to alter the list of prophecies.[5] Among the changes made was a reversal from Communism defeating Fascism and destroying Catholicism to "Romanism" (The Roman Catholic Church) defeating Communism.[6] Branham began to ridicule ministers who were teaching his original version of the prophecies by spreading fear of Communism.
This complete reversal in his doomsday scenario prediction concerning Communism also required a reversal in his misogynistic statements concerning the female role in the destruction of the United States. As John F. Kennedy began campaigning for the office of President of the United States, and the white supremacy groups began to spread fear of Catholic power in the White House, Branham altered his prediction of a "female president" to a "male president who is Catholic" and claimed that Catholicism — not Communism — would destroy the United States spiritually instead of physically. Before President Kennedy was assassinated, Branham claimed that his "female president" prophecy had been fulfilled.
How many remembers that vision, here in the church? Sure. Said that, how that even Kennedy would be elected in this last election. How that women would be permitted to vote. … Now, and it said in there, "At that time, there'd be a great woman stand up in the United States. " And she was dressed and beautiful, but she was cruel in heart. And I got in parenthesis on the vision, even yellow paper, said, "perhaps the Catholic church. " And the women being permitted to vote would help elect the wrong person for this nation. And that's what they done. Exactly. [...] I got in parenthesis: "(perhaps the Catholic church). " See? "That'll take rulership over the power, overpower the others in the United States. She'll be beautiful to look at, but she'll be cruel-hearted as she can be.[7]
As a result, Branham's claims to have predicted doomsday in 1931,[8] 1932,[9] or 1933[10] present two very different scenarios: 1) A female will be President of the United States when Russia invades or 2) A male will be president when Catholicism invades. Sadly, cult leaders in Branham's destructive "Message" cult following carefully omit details when using fear tactics to retain members. Most cult leaders will never describe these conflicts to their victims, and most cult victims are unaware that these conflicts exist.
