NATO Announcement Overturns Branham Prophecy

As the world watches in horror as Russia invades Ukraine, many cult leaders in William Branham's "Message" cult following claim that the events unfolding were predicted accurately in William Branham's alleged 1933 prophecies.  In the 1950s, William Branham began claiming to have prophesied that Communist Russia would consume Nazism, Fascism, and "Romanism"[1] and that the world would convert to Communism shortly before the United States was invaded with Russian boots on the ground.  But are cult leaders being honest with cult members?

Throughout the 1950s before reversing his prophecy,[2] William Branham introduced several details as to how the original version of his Doomsday scenario would unfold.  At the time over a half of a century in our past, listeners were certain that WWIII was inevitable and that Russia — which was at that time part of the Communist Soviet Union — would ignite the flame leading to Armageddon.  Branham's prediction was simply re-stating what others were saying, with the added twist of Branham claiming that he had made the same statement years in his past.  

When the Soviet Union dissolved and Russia abandoned Communism as its government system,[3] many (now former) members of Branham's religious cult following started to recognize the significant problems with Branham's alleged prophecy.  One of the details that Branham introduced was a claim that if Mussolini invaded Ethiopia, "there would never be peace till Jesus Christ comes."  All were aware that Mussolini did, in fact, invade Ethiopia.[4]  And while Russia still posed a Communist threat, world peace was indeed threatened.

If Mussolini ever goes towards Ethiopia, mark this down, there will never be peace till Jesus Christ comes.' And I said, 'There’ll be three great isms, Communism, Fascism, and Nazism.” And I said, “They’ll wind up in one ism, and that one ism will dominate the world and will burn the Vatican City.'"

Threats of war have existed since history has been recorded.  Matthew 24 describes "wars and rumors of war"[5] which will continue until the end of time.  War was nothing new; scattered around the world there have been countless battles before, during, and after the World Wars.  This particular detail, however, was not referring to regional conflicts; the overarching theme of Branham's doomsday scenario was that of Communist Russian invading the entire world, consuming all of the world systems, and converting the globe to Communism.  

Yet as the events are unfolding in Ukraine, cult members are watching all nations of the world declare Russia a current threat to "world peace".  Many of these leaders declare that there has been world peace since September 2, 1945, when WWII ended.  In other words, there has been world peace on earth for 77 years, regardless of isolated military conflicts.

On February 24, 2022, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg confirmed Branham's prophecy had failed.  Europe did experience peace, and Russia had brought the world from a status of world peace to war.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said Thursday that Russia has launched war on Ukraine and shattered peace on the European continent.  Stoltenberg called for a summit of NATO leaders for Friday. He spoke shortly after the trans-Atlantic alliance agreed after emergency talks to further beef up its land, sea and air forces on its eastern flank near Ukraine and Russia."Russia has attacked Ukraine," Stoltenberg said. "This is a brutal act of war. Our thoughts are with the brave people of Ukraine." "Peace on our continent has been shattered," he said. "This is a deliberate, cold-blooded and long-planned invasion. Russia is using force to try to rewrite history."[6]
