Voice of God Responds to Outrage Over Deity Claim

Recently, several members of William Branham's cult of personality were outraged after Voice of God Recordings published a letter rebuking cult ministers for admitting that William Branham's ministry included many mistakes and false claims.  In the letter, cult headquarters said that William Branham was a "deity veiled in human flesh"[1]  Read more about that letter here.[2]  The full response to the initial letter can be read here:https://branhamtabernacle.org/en/bt/8a/100931/%7B0%7D

After what appears to be a significant backlash from the "Message" cult, Voice of God Recordings responded to those who disagreed with their deity claim ... by further reinforcing that deity claim!

The letter appears to be an attempt to defend the original letter addressed to "Dear Written Word"[4] by carefully choosing biblical examples while avoiding specific passages.  The letter reminds readers that God visited earth in the form of the man Jesus Christ, and therefore it is not extraordinary to claim that God later visited the world in the form of William Branham[5] as the "prophet of the hour".[6]

At the same time, the letter carefully chooses not to inform readers about other passages in the Bible that contradict their claims, such as Luke 16:16, which describes the ending of the Old Covenant Law and prophets with John the Baptist.  

The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

Voice of God Recordings appears to be suggesting that members view William Branham as the new mediator between God and man in rejection of 1 Timothy 2:5, and as a replacement for the Holy Spirit sent to lead and guide according to John 14:26.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Interestingly, Voice of God Recordings did reverse course on a previous letter demanding the silence of cult ministers.  In March 2022, Joseph Branham said that "we've got to ONLY hear that Word from the Voice of God for our day [William Branham]".[7]  Apparently, this also resulted in a similar outrage and the cult ministers are now permitted to preach — but not at the Branham Tabernacle.

We are not against the five-fold ministry, God forbid, God has called them to minister. They are following and doing how the Holy Spirit is leading them. We are just doing as the Holy Spirit is leading us to do and He is leading and directing us to stay with the tapes only.
