Christian Thomaßen

Chris Thomasson is a former member of the Charismatic Movement from Germany who came to faith in 2012 and was baptized in 2014. His early Christian experience began in a charismatic congregation, where unusual practices and teachings pushed him to study the Bible for himself. Through that process, he became increasingly concerned about teachings he believed lacked biblical grounding, including deliverance practices, "hearing the voice of God" methods, Word of Faith language, dominion-style prayer, and emotionally driven revival culture. Chris also had direct exposure to Youth With A Mission through friends and through helping build a YWAM base, where he observed patterns of hype, financial pressure, emotional instability, and unresolved trauma. In the conversation, he emphasizes the importance of biblical literacy, historical awareness, healthy congregations, patience, and separating Christian faith from identity-driven religious movements.
