Jed Hartley

Jed Hartley is a former member of IHOPKC who grew up closely connected to the movement from its earliest years. His father, Bob Hartley, was a prominent prophetic figure in the IHOPKC, Bethel, and YWAM circles, and Jed describes spending formative years around the House of Prayer, prophetic conferences, and major leaders in the charismatic and New Apostolic Reformation world. In the conversation, Jed reflects on how testimony culture, miracle claims, prophetic language, and selective storytelling created a false sense of spiritual certainty while hiding failed prophecies, abuse, manipulation, and grift. He also speaks from personal experience about the pressure placed on people inside those communities, the difficulty of questioning revered leaders, and the freedom that can come from allowing oneself to ask hard questions and step outside fear-based religious systems.
