John Collins Interviewed by In-Sight: Independent Interview-Based Journal on William Branham, The Message, and Seek The Truth
John Collins, author and webmaster of the Seek The Truth website, was interviewed by Scott Douglas Jacobsen for In-Sight: Independent Interview-Based Journal. The interview was published individually on November 1, 2016, and later appeared in Issue 12.A, Outliers & Outsiders (Part Eight), published January 1, 2017.
The interview examined Collins's cultural, geographic, linguistic, and religious background, including his upbringing in the religious movement commonly known as "The Message." Collins discussed his family connection to Branham Tabernacle in Jeffersonville, Indiana, where his grandfather, Willard Collins, served for decades as pastor after the death of William Branham.
In the interview, Collins described his experience as a former follower of William Branham, the challenges involved in leaving the movement, and the role of historical research in reevaluating Branham's prophetic claims, ministry history, and teachings. The discussion also addressed Branham's place within the post-World War II Healing Revival, the movement's internal view of Branham as a modern prophet, and concerns raised by former followers regarding control, information restriction, and spiritual abuse.
Collins also discussed the central theological claims associated with Branham's movement, the differences between Branham's public reputation and the claims accepted within The Message, and why he believes believers and non-believers should carefully examine the historical and doctrinal record before accepting Branham's authority.
The interview was published by In-Sight Publishing in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. The journal issue carried ISSN 2369-6885 and included the interview under the title An Interview with John Collins: Author & Webmaster, Seek The Truth.
