Kacou Philippe
Kacou Philippe is a self-appointed Branhamite prophet and leader of the Midnight Cry Church in Ivory Coast, presenting himself as the new messenger for a new spiritual age after William Branham's death while drawing authority from Branham's Seven Church Ages framework and his connection to Ewald Frank; his movement reflects the ongoing fragmentation of the Message into competing prophetic sub-sects, and his teachings have become controversial because of reported legal action over hate speech, his claims of exclusive prophetic authority, and doctrines that echo the racial hierarchy and authoritarian logic embedded in Branham's wider theological legacy.
Kacou Philippe is the William Branham "Message" self-appointed cult leader of the sub-sect Midnight Cry Church in Ivory Coast, Africa. Kakou continues to promote Branham's (incorrect) teaching that only one prophet is sent by God for each "age" in Branham's Seven Church Ages, and explains the issue of Branham's death in 1965 without having fulfilled specific visions by promoting himself. According to Kakou, we are living in a new age, and he, himself, is the new "prophet" of this age.[1]
The church and Kacou's unusual doctrines have made the news multiple times.[2] Philippe was arrested for hate speech in 2016,[3] and forbidden to preach for five years in any part of Ivory Coast.[4]
Kacou Philippe is a disciple of Ewald Frank. According to Philippe, Frank has the "midnight cry", which Philippe's sect is named after. Philippe considers Frank to be "king" of the sect and has named his child after Frank.
And there was William Branham with the evening light. William Branham showed that he had the Indian blood through his grandmother. And today, at the time of Africa, Ewald Frank, a White man speaks of the midnight Cry. And yet, we know that after the evening time, it's midnight, the Blacks, Africa before going back again to the East with the two witnesses of Revelation 11.[5]
And through several revelations like this one, I understood that Ewald Frank is the head of the posterity of William Branham. Today, the posterity of William Branham is like Israel and Ewald Frank is its king. And I was sent as a prophet to this people according to Matthew 25:6. I was with this people of William Branham from the vision in 1993 until 2002. And these visions have changed the way I see Ewald Frank. And I gave the name Kacou Frank Ewald to my last son.[6]

Following the pattern of William Branham's and Roy E. Davis' theology grounded in white supremacy, Philippe advocates for the submission of the "black man" to "the white man." According to Kacou, any African who does not submit should be placed in International Criminal Court.[7]
All the gold, the diamonds, all the petroleum and all the subsoil and the fertile lands and the woods of Africa and everything on the soil of Africa is the original property of the white man, who has the right to deport them to America to work in his cotton and sugar cane plantations.
