King George
George VI (Albert Frederick Arthur George; 14 December 1895 – 6 February 1952) was King of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Commonwealth from December 1936 until his death in 1952. He suffered from health issues due to smoking in the later years of his reign and died of coronary thrombosis in 1952. Smoking led to lung cancer, arteriosclerosis, and Buerger's disease. A planned tour of Australia and New Zealand was postponed after the King suffered an arterial blockage in his right leg, which threatened the loss of the leg, and was treated with a right lumbar sympathectomy in March 1949. The condition was so severe that in October 1951, A month-long tour of Canada by Elizabeth and Philip was postponed for a week due to the King's illness. Because of his declining health, at the State Opening of Parliament in November 1951, the King's speech from the throne was read for him by the Lord Chancellor, Lord Simonds. His Christmas broadcast of 1951 was recorded in sections and then edited and spliced together. On February 6, 1952, King George was found dead in bed at Sandringham House in Norfolk.

In early versions of William Branham's stage persona, Branham claimed to have healed a man in England of multiple sclerosis. This man, according to Branham sent word to King George (who instead suffered from arteriosclerosis).

Said, 'Sir, lay your hands upon me; that’s all I desire.' I got the letters of it now. King George of England, where we just came from… There…?… went and told him what had taken place, and what it done. 'Brother Branham he sent and he prayed a prayer…'

I believe that was the last night, the night the man was healed of multiple sclerosis, that sent the word to King George of England, which I have his statement. God had healed him. And the man had been bed patient ten years with multiple sclerosis. He's perfectly well tonight, glorifying God.

Just three days after making this claim, on August 27, 1950, Branham introduced a new claim into his stage persona: The healing of King George of multiple sclerosis — even though King George VI never had the disease. From August 1950 forward, Branham began claiming that it was not the man who contacted King George who received "healing", but King George himself. This claim would continue throughout future versions of Branham's stage persona, even as the health of King George continued to decline and ultimately resulted in death.
King George of England was healed a few weeks ago of multiple sclerosis.
