Pattern of Discrimination Established Among Branham Cult Elites
Yesterday we shared the secret recording of William Branham's close associate and leader of the "sister church" of the Branham Tabernacle, Raymond "Junior" Jackson, explaining William Branham's "secret version" of the Serpent Seed doctrine Branham learned from Wesley A. Swift. After sharing this information and combining it with our other research, a very troubling pattern was established: Leaders in William Branham's cult of personality were aligned with the white supremacy agendas of William Branham and Roy E. Davis. Enter into the research record Branham cult leader Lee Vayle.

Lee Vayle was a close friend, business associate, editor, and publisher for William Branham. He was respected by Branham with the honorary title of 'Doctor' Lee Vayle,[1] and the man Branham chose to help sway public opinion by introducing the beginning of doctrines Branham would later complete, as is identified in the 'Secret Audio Letter to Lee Vayle'.[2] To Branham's 'Message' cult of personality, Vayle was like the scribes of the ancient world, assisting Branham with documenting and safekeeping information. Both Lee Vayle and Raymond Jackson molded their doctrines from the teachings of William Branham — including the doctrines that William Branham excluded from recordings through a switch installed in pulpits to stop the cassette tapes.[3][4]
Over the years, I have heard multiple explain that William Branham taught a "more complete" version of his Serpent Seed doctrine in which Branham explained that the Serpent was ten feet tall, had the darkest of black skin, mated with Eve in the Garden of Eden, and produced the "black race". There has been one single document representing Branham's views as explained by Lee Vayle, but this single document is not enough to establish a pattern. When combined with Raymond Jackson's testimony, however, this produces the proverbial "the mouth of two or three witnesses".
According to former cult members, Lee Vayle frequently explained Branham's teaching on Serpent Seed by saying that the Serpent from the Garden of Eden was "ten feet tall and as black as the ace of spades" and that a sexual union between Eve produced "the colored people". William Branham, as many white supremacists of the era did, used the word "colored people" as a polite way to say the more disturbing names used for African Americans. In only one transcript (not edited or paused) did William Branham use the word "mongrel" to describe the result of "colored people" mixing into the white gene pool.[5]
Cause, the Africans are big, burly, heavy fat-like people. Some of them are nearly seven-foot tall, and weigh, oh, two hundred and eighty, three hundred pounds, burly.
- William Branham[6]
In 2003, a letter was sent to Branham cult leader Brian J. Kocourel to ask about Vayle's discriminatory statements against people with black skin. Kocourel admitted that Vayle did, in fact, claim that the Serpent from the Garden of Eden was "ten feet tall and as black as the ace of spades". Kocourel denied, however, that the "colored race" as described by Lee Vayle's description of Branham's Serpent Seed doctrine referred to people with black skin — in direct conflict with William Branham's own statements about the "colored race" on recording and transcript.
In 1960, Branham clearly separated the "colored people" from the "white man" during a rant against Civil Rights leaders and African Americans who voted for President Kennedy:
Hybreeding, oh, it's such a curse. Go back to where God started. Let's go back to the beginning. Go back to where God brought us, what we're supposed to be. I say this with respects. I say this with honor. I'm going to Africa, but, you know what, to my precious colored brother and sisters. One of the greatest mistakes this nation made, it made it on November the 11th, this year. That was its great, fatal mistake. One of the greatest mistakes that the colored race ever made, was down in Louisiana and over in there, when they voted for Kennedy, the other night, put him in. They actually spit on that dress of Abraham Lincoln, where the blood of the Republican party that freed them, and voted a Catholic. Which, Booth shot Lincoln. And he died for the race of people, to free them and make them not slaves. Then, turn around and vote for a Democrat, and a Catholic, besides. They brought one of the greatest disgraces they ever wrought, because (why?) the white man, with his scholarship, had give them a lot of ballyhoo. That's exactly right."
