George DeArk

George DeArk was an elder in Roy E. Davis' Pentecostal church in Jeffersonville at the same time William Branham helped Davis lead the church. After a series of Ku Klux Klan-related exposure, as well as civil and criminal investigations leading to the extradition of Davis to Arkansas, William Branham started the Billie Branham Pentecostal Tabernacle. Members of Davis' church became William Branham's congregation and elders of the church transferred to Branham's assembly. George DeArk was one of the elders linking the transition of the church from Davis to Branham via Jeffersonville newspaper articles advertising the churches and Branham's own statements.

Branham claimed that he first heard his "Serpent's Seed" (Christian Identity) doctrine from George DeArk. In earlier versions of his stage persona, Branham claimed that he rejected the notion of Eve mating with the Serpent from the Garden of Eden when DeArk explained the doctrine. Branham continued to reject the doctrine until the Little Rock Nine incident in Little Rock, AR. Later versions of his stage persona rely heavily upon Christian Identity, which Branham called "Serpent's Seed".

George DeArk was a member of the Masons. He met at New Albany Lodge #1, Independent Order of Odd Fellows Masonic gathering. He also attended meetings in Indianapolis as a delegate for the New Albany masonic lodge. George moved to Jeffersonville to work as a packer at the Quartermasters Depot in 1895, which would later be purchased by "Voice of God Recordings" and used to distribute the William Branham's sermons around the world. As a government employee, George DeArk made $45 per month which was almost double the average wage at that time.

He was the guardian of William and Herbert McGregor And able to travel internationally with them on his salary. They were not his children, but he cared for them, and put them through college at the University of Louisville, KY. He also managed the estate of their late father, James McGregor.

A few years before Roy Davis fled Louisville, KY, to Jeffersonville, IN, after defrauding members of his church, George DeArk witnessed a terrible accident while sitting on his porch. Jeffersonville streets had a heavy coat of oil, and the mayor jumped a curb and slammed into a telephone pole.

Before William Branham led the Billie Branham Pentecostal Tabernacle and during the time Roy E. Davis was causing quote a stir in the Jeffersonville, IN and Louisville, KY area due to his criminal and civil suits, William Branham and George DeArk were elders in Davis' church. It can be assumed that they were both aligned with Davis' doctrinal positions at the time. One doctrine that the Ku Klux Klan alleged was the idea that the Original Sin in the Garden of Eden was a sexual union between Eve and the Serpent, known as the "Christian Identity" doctrine. The Ku Klux Klan used this doctrine as a foundation for their claim that African Americans were the lesser race, a fundamental element of white supremacy. With Roy E. Davis' recent high rank in white supremacy groups such as the Ku Klux Klan (Official Spokesperson) and the Knights of the Flaming Sword (Ambassador), Christian Identity doctrine would have been a focal point in his meetings.
