Henry Branham

Henry Branham was William Branham's brother and closely tied to William Branham's stage persona and change of identity.  After Charles Branham was arrested for producing illicit liquor[1] with William Branham's assistance, [2] William Branham changed his name, age, and personal details and began touring the country in the revival circuits.  While doing so, William Branham posed in the revivals as "Henry Branham".[3] 

Henry, William Branham's Brother, married Leslie Davis[4] and moved to Dayton.[5]  There is a strong possibility that William Branham used Henry's name since Henry was not in Jeffersonville and could not easily be contacted.  According to both the United Press and local Missouri newspapers, William used the name "Henry" while touring through multiple states,[6] and people claiming to have been "healed" named "Henry" as their "healer".[7]

Henry was a boxer of local fame in the Northern Kentucky and Southern Indiana area.[8]  When William Branham went undercover in the healing revivals using Henry's name, he also assumed Henry's boxing identity.  Henry was a bantamweight boxer frequently mentioned in the newspapers, and William Branham (as Henry) appears to have used this as part of the cover.  Even well into his latter revivals, William Branham continued to claim to have the records held by his brother Henry.[9]

She just grabbed my hand like that, real quick. And I used to be a boxer. I had the undefeated title of Bantamweight Championship of the three states, so—and know what grip is.[10]
