Renegades For Accepting the Gospel
While earlier versions of William Branham's stage persona claimed to be spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the same Gospel promoted by most of the men and women invited to participate in the Voice of Healing and Latter Rain Healing Revival, later versions of his stage persona made a clear distinction between the two. During the 1950s while working with Latter Rain leader Joseph Mattsson-Boze, Branham's stage persona hinted at the separation, calling the belief system for his sect the "Gospel of Divine Healing".[1] By 1961 Branham began to publicly label his own "gospel" with the title "The Message", the name later used to describe his sect of Pentecostalism.

After establishing a cult following devoted to his "Message", Branham began to denounce other ministers who were spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, especially to non-white races of people. He was especially critical of evangelists spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Jews, to whom Branham frequently insulted with racial slurs.[2] This would have aligned closely with the position of Roy E. Davis, Branham's mentor, and official spokesperson, and one of the writers of the by-laws for the 1915 Ku Klux Klan. The Klan also held a strong position against the Jews, with the lynching of Jewish businessman Leo Frank being one of the main catalysts for its rebirth.[3]
Branham asked other evangelists to halt attempting to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Israel. He claimed that his version of the "gospel", the "Message", was more powerful and that he would convert the entire nation of Israel using the "Message" in one night. According to Branham, these evangelists would have very limited success using the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but any Jews who converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ were "renegades".
Stay away from Israel! Stay away from it, all you people talking about converting the Jews. Before this Message is over, you’ll see it’s THUS SAITH THE LORD, by Word and by Spirit. Israel will be converted over, the whole nation, in one night. The Bible said so. But the Gospel is not even to them. There is a few renegades that’s out, and so forth like that, that come in, and outside the main body of Jews, that come in and get saved.
