"The Message" is the name collectively used by members of William Branham's religious cult following to describe themselves.  Other names are also used, including but not limited to, "End Time Message", "Bride", "Bride Church", "The Elect".

The name comes from William Branham himself.  Branham referred to his sermons and/or his ministry as "my message"[1], originally when referring to the healing lines in the revivals.  Branham claimed that his "Message" came directly from God,[2] was often long,[3] and in later versions of his stage persona was used to refer to secret mysteries of the Christian religion.[4]

During the Latter Rain version of his stage persona, other ministers involved with Latter Rain collectively used the term "The Message" to describe Latter Rain, suggesting that the term originated from the commonly used phrase "Latter Rain Message".  Jim Jones of Peoples Temple, who worked with William Branham and Joseph Mattsson-Boze in the Latter Rain version of the "Message" used this term to describe his work in the movement.[5] Sub-sects of William Branham's cult, such as Berniece Hicks' Christ Gospel Church, also use the term.

I know there are things about the Message that you may not see but it is God.
- Jim Jones, Peoples Temple[6]
