Paul Cain was a member of William Branham's "Message" cult of personality from as early as 1951[1] until his death in 2019.[2] He was very active in spreading Branham's Manifested Sons of God theology throughout the United States and abroad. He was also instrumental in the formation of neo-Pentecostal sects including the Kansas City Prophets,[3] the Vinyard Movement,[4] the British Evangelical Alliance,[5] International House of Prayer,[6] and more. Cain was connected with and "ministered to" key political figures, including President Clinton, Saddam Hussein,[7] and Prime Minister Netanyahu.[8]

The last notable moment of our collaboration was in October 2004, when we, along with Rick Joyner, addressed Paul Cain's misconduct publicly. For those unfamiliar with the Kansas City Prophets, Paul Cain was the most revered among them.[9]

In a series of phone conversations before his death, Paul Cain explained to John Collins that he was the evangelist William Branham chose to send into countries Branham had been banned, including Germany. Cain was with Branham in Karlsruhe, Germany,[10] during the revival meetings that recruited both Ewald Frank[11] and the infamous Colonia Dignidad cult leader Paul Shafer. Shafer was assigned to Branham as his private security detail.[12] Interestingly, the meetings in Germany occurred not long after Vice President Richard Nixon's charge to the Full Gospel Business Men International to weaponize sermon content.[13]
In 2004, Cain was accused by Rick Joyner, Jack Deere, and Mike Bickle of homosexuality and public drunkenness. Key figures in Branham's campaign team were either known to be homosexual or accused of participating in homosexual acts,[14] including William Branham himself.[15] Though he initially denied it, Cain eventually issued a public apology.[16]
In 2004, Pentecostal "prophet" Paul Cain was exposed as a homosexual and an alcoholic ("Latter Rain Prophet of Renown Is Now Discredited," The Plumbline, December 2004). A statement issued by Rick Joyner, Jack Deere, and Mike Bickel said: "Paul admitted to these sinful practices and was placed under discipline, agreeing to a process of restoration, which the three of us would oversee. However, Paul has resisted this process and has continued in his sin" (Special Bulletin, MorningStar Ministries, Oct, 19, 2004)[17]
Cain was also allegedly a consultant for the FBI[18] and the CIA's "Paranormal Division,"[19] or MK-Ultra. The government programs attempted to use Cain and others with "gifts" to either control the masses or predict the future using various techniques, including hypnosis.
